Our Story

Meridian began as a quiet workshop in Tainan's West Central District, established by watchmakers who believed that mechanical timepieces deserve care that honors their design and history. What started as a small practice has grown into a trusted service for those who value patience, precision, and respectful restoration.

Our approach draws from Swiss horological traditions—not as rigid rules, but as thoughtful principles that guide how we handle each watch. We understand that every timepiece that arrives at our workshop carries its own story. Some are daily companions, others family heirlooms, and many hold memories that transcend their mechanical function.

We chose the name Meridian because it represents a moment of precision and alignment—qualities we bring to every service. In horology, the meridian marks the moment when the sun crosses its highest point, a reference of accuracy for traditional timekeeping. This concept guides our work: finding the right alignment between preservation and performance.

Located in Tainan, we serve the local community and clients from across Taiwan who appreciate thorough, unhurried service. Our workshop maintains a calm environment where each watch receives individual attention. We invest in proper tools, training, and time because these investments directly affect the quality of care your watch receives.

We maintain professional-grade tools including ultrasonic cleaning systems, timing machines, pressure testing equipment, and precision instruments necessary for accurate watch service.

Insurance Coverage

Every watch in our care is covered by professional liability insurance. We handle your timepieces in a controlled environment with proper security measures and detailed record-keeping.

Documentation

We provide detailed service records including timing results, parts replaced, and work performed. For Estate Watch Revival, we include photographic documentation of the process.

Client Privacy

Your information remains confidential. We maintain secure records and do not share client details or watch information with third parties without explicit permission.

Transparent Communication

We contact you before any work beyond the initial service scope. You receive clear explanations of concerns discovered and cost estimates before we proceed.

Our Philosophy

We approach watch repair as a practice rather than a transaction. Each timepiece represents someone's investment—financial, emotional, or both—and deserves service that respects that relationship. This means taking the time needed to do work properly, using appropriate parts, and maintaining honest communication throughout the process.

Quality horological service requires patience. We cannot rush movement cleaning, skip proper testing, or compromise on parts selection without affecting the result. Our timeline estimates reflect realistic service durations that allow for thorough work. When we say a Swiss Movement Service takes 2–3 weeks, that's because comprehensive disassembly, cleaning, reassembly, and timing adjustment require that investment of time.

We also believe in preservation where appropriate. For estate and vintage watches, maintaining original components and patina often serves the watch better than aggressive restoration. We discuss these decisions with you, providing our professional assessment while respecting your preferences as the owner.

Located in Tainan's West Central District, we're accessible to local clients and those traveling from other parts of Taiwan. We welcome you to visit our workshop, see our equipment, and discuss your watch's needs in person. Understanding your timepiece's history and your expectations helps us provide service aligned with your goals.
