In these Terms and Conditions:
- "Service" refers to watch repair, restoration, and related services provided by Meridian
- "Client" or "You" means the individual or entity requesting our services
- "We," "Us," or "Meridian" refers to Meridian watch repair services
- "Timepiece" or "Watch" means the watch submitted for service
- "Agreement" means these Terms and Conditions along with any service order or estimate
2. Acceptance of Terms
By submitting a watch for service, visiting our workshop, or using our website, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use our services.
These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Meridian. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone at our discretion.
3. Age Requirement
Our services are available only to individuals who are at least 18 years of age or the age of legal majority in their jurisdiction. By using our services, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement.
4. Service Description
Meridian provides professional watch repair and restoration services, including but not limited to:
- Swiss Movement Service (complete movement servicing)
- Water Resistance Restoration (seal replacement and testing)
- Estate Watch Revival (comprehensive restoration for inherited timepieces)
- Other related horological services as agreed upon
Service availability may be subject to technical feasibility, parts availability, and our assessment of the watch's condition. We reserve the right to decline service for any watch if we determine the work cannot be performed to our standards.
5. Service Process
5.1 Initial Assessment
Upon receiving your watch, we conduct an initial assessment to determine the required work and provide a service estimate. This assessment may reveal issues beyond those initially apparent.
5.2 Additional Work
If additional work is required beyond the initial scope, we will contact you with a revised estimate before proceeding. We will not perform additional work without your approval, except for minor adjustments necessary to complete the agreed service.
5.3 Service Timeline
Service timelines are estimates based on typical conditions. Actual completion time may vary depending on parts availability, complexity of repairs, and workshop schedule. We will inform you of any significant delays.
5.4 Parts and Materials
We use appropriate replacement parts, which may include manufacturer-specification components, period-correct parts for vintage watches, or suitable alternatives when original parts are unavailable. All replaced parts become property of Meridian unless you request their return at the time of service authorization.
6. Payment Terms
6.1 Pricing
Service fees are quoted in New Taiwan Dollars (NT$) and are based on the scope of work required. Prices include labor, standard materials, and testing. Additional parts or specialized components may incur extra charges, which will be communicated before purchase.
6.2 Payment Methods
We accept payment by cash, bank transfer, and major credit cards. Payment is due upon completion of service before the watch is returned to you.
6.3 Diagnostic Fee
If you decline to proceed with recommended service after our initial assessment, a diagnostic fee of NT$1,500 may apply to cover assessment time and administrative costs.
6.4 Storage Fees
Watches not collected within 90 days of service completion notification may be subject to a storage fee of NT$500 per month. We reserve the right to dispose of unclaimed watches after 180 days, following applicable legal requirements.
7. Client Responsibilities
As a client of Meridian, you agree to:
- Provide accurate information about your watch, including any known issues or previous repairs
- Disclose if the watch has sentimental value or special handling requirements
- Collect your watch promptly after receiving completion notification
- Verify that you are the legal owner of the watch or have authorization to request service
- Inform us immediately if you need to cancel or modify your service request
8. Warranty
8.1 Service Warranty
All services include a one-year warranty covering workmanship and parts we install. This warranty covers defects directly related to the service performed.
8.2 Warranty Exclusions
The warranty does not cover:
- Normal wear and tear
- Damage from accidents, misuse, or improper handling
- Water damage if the watch was used beyond its rated water resistance
- Service or repairs performed by others after our work
- Components we did not service or replace
- Cosmetic issues not directly related to our service
8.3 Warranty Claims
To make a warranty claim, contact us within the warranty period. We will assess the issue and, if covered, repair the watch at no charge. This warranty does not cover shipping costs for warranty service.
9. Limitation of Liability
While we maintain professional liability insurance and handle all watches with care, you acknowledge that watch repair involves inherent risks. We are not liable for:
- Pre-existing damage or defects not apparent during initial assessment
- Mechanical failures of components we did not service
- Loss of sentimental value
- Indirect, consequential, or special damages
- Damage occurring during shipping (if applicable)
Our total liability for any claim related to our services shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific service in question.
10. Insurance and Security
All watches in our care are covered by our professional liability insurance. We maintain secure storage and handling procedures. However, we recommend that you maintain your own insurance coverage for high-value timepieces.
While watches are in our possession, they are stored in a secure environment with appropriate access controls and monitoring.
11. Cancellation and Refunds
You may cancel a service request before work begins. Once service has commenced, cancellation may result in charges for work completed and parts ordered. If you cancel during the Estate Watch Revival service, charges will reflect the assessment work and any components sourced.
Refunds are provided only in cases where we are unable to complete the agreed service. Diagnostic and assessment fees are generally non-refundable.

In the event of a dispute, we encourage you to contact us first to seek an amicable resolution. Most concerns can be addressed through direct communication.
If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, both parties agree to attempt mediation before pursuing formal legal action.
16. Force Majeure
We are not liable for delays or failures in service delivery caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, pandemics, government actions, labor disputes, supplier failures, or transportation disruptions.
17. Severability
If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. Invalid provisions shall be interpreted to achieve the intended purpose to the maximum extent possible.
18. Waiver
Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these terms does not constitute a waiver of that right or provision. Any waiver must be in writing and signed by an authorized representative of Meridian.
19. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will be posted on our website with a revised "Last Updated" date. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.
For significant changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify clients through email or prominent website notice.
20. Entire Agreement
These Terms and Conditions, together with any service order or estimate and our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Meridian regarding our services and supersede any prior agreements or understandings.
